iA Writer for the Win

In marvellous news, for me, iA Writer has just enjoyed a mega update. With version 6 comes wikilinks (awesome), autocomplete for tags (awesome) and a new Lightning menu on iPad and iPhone (awesome).

iA Writer is my preferred and highly recommended distraction-free, clutter-free writing app. I use it on my Macs, iPad and iPhone. I’m writing this article in it. I’ve written entire Raging Swan Press supplements in iA Writer.

I could go on and on (and on) about why I love iA Writer. To spare you from that, here are a few of what I consider its standout features:

1. It uses .txt files.
2. It uses Markdown.
3. It syncs instantly and seamlessly across my devices using iCloud.
4. It provides a distraction-free writing environment.
5. It allows you to highlight elements of your text such as adverbs, cliches, filler words and so on.
