August's Notebook

Another month, another notebook. In July, I used a Field Notes Pitch Black notebook, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s a great notebook, and I highly recommend it for its simplicity and utility. I’ve had to restrain myself from starting another for August.
August's Notebook

Another month, another notebook. In July, I used a Field Notes Pitch Black notebook, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s a great notebook, and I highly recommend it for its simplicity and utility. I’ve had to restrain myself from starting another for August.

Instead, I’ve gone with a Nero’s Notes Stealth notebook. Nero’s Notes is the online shop I used to buy 99% of my pencils and notebooks, and their Stealth three-pack is a fabulous set of books. The paper is higher quality than the Field Notes I’ve been using, and readily takes a Blackwing pencil. (Rather handy as they are the pencil of choice at Global HQ). I also love the cover’s subtle design.

My trusty Blackwing Pearl survived July!

As always, I’m using a dot grid notebook—I love the flexibility of that format, and I’m setting it up as a normal monthly book. That said, I’ve got some serious planning to do this month. As another large project nears completion (The Thingonomicon II) my mind turns to the next big thing. Two projects currently vie for my attention:

  • Retribution Collector’s Edition in 5e and OSR (to complement the new editions of The Lonely Coast we have released this year).
  • A Monstrous Lair compendium comprising all 46 extant instalments and a few new ones which we bafflingly forgot to do. (How could we forget hobgoblins and orcs?)

As always, planning is a relatively complex procedure. While I know which project I want to start next, it's not as simple as that. For example, which of the two is better for the schedule? Which one will best fit with my schedule for the next few months? How much will each one cost? Could either be done in time for Christmas? My monthly notebook will help me answer all these questions (and more!)
