Opening the door, Gromm discovered a kitchen. Another door led to a large dining room with seats for about 50. The place was in disarray, suggesting the diners had been interrupted.

Exploring further, the heroes discovered a storeroom full of provisions and equipment. The heroes briefly discussed destroying some of the goods to deny their use to the goblins but eventually decided it was just easier to kill all their enemies.

Exploring south, they discovered two dead, and gnawed on, humans in a room and then back-tracked to the chamber behind the temple to the north. Pushing through a previously unexplored door, they found two secret doors in the passageway beyond.

Then, they backtracked again to the south and opened another door. In the chamber beyond, they discovered about a dozen small flying creatures akin to a cross between a bat and a mosquito. As the creatures—stirges—bestirred themselves Saeldur annihilated over half the group with a barrage of arrows. Shortly thereafter, the other heroes mopped up the survivors.

Returning the way they came, the heroes decided to investigate the dead bodies they had found earlier. As they did so, a secret door at the rear of the room opened, and two ghasts emerged to battle the group while another foul undead abomination dashed out of another door to attack the party from the rear. All were swiftly slain, although Harald suffered a grievous wound while heroically fighting one of the creatures in single combat.

After this, the party advanced further south and discovered another room with yet another ebon statue depicting the dark god Braal. This statue was, however, only partly complete. At sight of it, Thonn leapt into the room, keen to destroy it before it could animate, disgorge wraiths, explode or otherwise harm the party…
