I’ve got a long history with D&D and its various clones and off-shoots. Fantasy Roleplaying Games have been a huge part of my life since I discovered them almost 40 years ago.

I played AD&D 1st and 2nd edition (extensively and perhaps too much) at school, helped run the 3.0 and 3.5 Dungeons and Dragons Living Greyhawk campaign and have published Pathfinder 1st Edition products (and later Fifth Edition and OSR material) for 12 years as a work from home designer and publisher.

In all that time, the perfect game has eluded me.

I’ve increasingly come to believe that a fantastic game (for me) lurks at the intersection of 1st Edition AD&D, Pathfinder 1st Edition and Fifth Edition. Behold:

Why yes, I am colourblind. Why do you ask?

The game comprises:

  • The feel of 1st Edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
  • The crunchy character options of Pathfinder 1st Edition.
  • The smooth, fast play of Fifth Edition Dungeons & Dragons.

I would love to play that game!

What’s Yours?

What’s your perfect game?
